  • What is wall printing?

The Wall Zen solution uses an innovative vertical printing system design and manufactured in Germany to the highest quality.

It utilises an inkjet system to print on virtually any vertical surface, regardless of material and unevenness.

Because we print directly on the wall there is no need for any stencils, foils or vinyl and so no wastage.

It works quickly, cleanly and quietly.

  • What are the photo / image requirements?

You can print virtually any digital graphic, sketch, image, logo or text!

Most image file types can be used, AI, PSD, PDF, EPS, TIF, PNG, JPG, BMP.

Even paper artwork is perfectly printable. With a simple flatbed scanner, we have already achieved fantastic results by scanning at the highest resolution. Processing and printing old originals, maps, drawings, postcards, sketches, photos or paintings work perfectly and the results are absolutely impressive. So it's just a few clicks from any paper artwork to oversized artwork.

Image quality and resolution is important and determines how large you can print, 300dpi (dots or pixels per inch) works well with most images but depending on the image lower resolutions can produce perfectly good results.  We can provide advice and  design services to rescale images if necessary at a minimal additional charge.

  • Can I print my own image?

You can absolutely use your own images for printing with Wall Zen, or you can choose from one of the many online sites offering free or paid for imagery. See the images page on our website for inspiration and image sources.

If you choose to use your own image, we will need to review it to ensure it is suitable for printing at your desired size.

  • What type of walls can be printed on?

The Wall Zen solution can print on a wide range of surfaces, including painted walls, concrete, brick, wood, glass, metal and more.

The surface should be clean and smooth for the best possible print result, but great affects can also be achieved on textured surfaces.

The wall printer also easily masters walls with holes and cracks. The built-in laser sensor system compensates for unevenness up to a difference of up to 10 cm.

  • What is the maximum size I can print?

Printing height: The vertical axis is extremely flexible as it can be extended in 10 cm increments. The lowest ceiling height for using the Wall Zen is 1.7 m (5 ft 6" ). After that, the axis can optionally be extended up to 4 m (13 ft) print height in 10 cm (4 in) increments.

    Print width: unlimited

Due to the limitations of inkjet technology, there are margins in corners to adjacent walls, floor and ceiling. These are 6 cm (2.3″) on the left, 10 cm (3.3″) on the right, 25 cm (9.8″) on the top, and 25 cm (9.8″) on the bottom.

  • How long will it take to print the job?

Setup can take 30 minutes and then we print at 2 to 16 square metres per hour.  The print speed can vary depending on complexity, ink and quality settings.

  • Can I remove the wall print?

    Of course!

On glass with a ceramic hob scraper or razor blade. Otherwise, a print can always be painted over in two or three layers.

Wood must be sanded or with metal or concrete - sandblasting or glass bead blasting.

  • What type of ink is used?

The UV inks are produced in Europe specifically for Wall Zen, and like all components of the Wall Zen ecosystem, they were developed under the highest environmental standards.

The inks are ideal for wall printing because they cure within milliseconds and are instantly scratch and abrasion-resistant.

As it is sterile and abrasion-resistant, walls in children's rooms, doctors' surgeries and historic preservation areas can also be printed without any worries.

  • Is the print scratch proof?

Yes, within reason, the ink dries within milliseconds and is abrasion resistant, waterproof and solvent-resistant.

Indoors we expect images to retain their colour for 10 years or more.

  • My wall is curved, can you print on it?

Yes, the Wall Zen printer uses lasers to keep the print head the correct distance from the wall, and the unit has built in steering capability to follow a curved wall.

    .

  • How much space is required between the wall and the print?

The printer required 6cm on the left, 10 cm on the right and 25 cm each for the ceiling and floor.
